Malaysia Airlines expands capacity, frequency
Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) is expanding its capacity and increasing its frequency to regional spots and new international destinations with more flights to Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. 
PIA to be privatized
Malaysia Airlines model being considered Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Karachi Int'l) will be privatized as part of the new Pakistani prime minister, Nawaz Sharif's, plans to remove the financial millstone from around his government's neck. The AFP reports that the plans include the sale of a 26% stake in the ailing national carrier with managerial control to be handed over to private investors. 
Malaysia Airlines flight links Muscat to Kuala Lumpur
Travellers from Oman flying to Malaysia are set to benefit with Malaysia Airlines restarting daily flights between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia Airlines has added Dubai back to its network with effect from August 5. The Dubai-Kuala Lumpur return service operates daily via MH163 and MH162 using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft that has a total capacity of 282 seats, equivalent to 3,948 seats weekly.
